Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University (NovSU) is one of Russia’s top universities, formed in 1993 by the merger of the Yaroslav-the-Hungarian Pedagogical Institute and the Polytechnic Institute of Veliky Novgorod. Later, the Novgorod Agricultural Academy was also integrated into the university. NovSU now includes several academic institutions, such as the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Humanities, Electronic Information Systems, Pedagogical Education, Digital Economics, and the Polytechnic Institute. It also houses colleges in the humanities, medicine, economics, and engineering. The university offers 42 bachelor’s, 17 master’s, and 4 specialty programs across all higher education levels.

With over 600 faculty and researchers—129 doctors of science and 336 candidates—NovSU offers students rich academic and research opportunities. Its dissertation councils in areas like physics, philosophy, and education ensure high academic standards. The university focuses on integrating research, innovation, and education, supporting this through modern research centers and labs. It plays a leading role in regional and national educational, scientific, and sports events. In 2019, NovSU launched its English-medium MBBS program (General Medicine) for international students. Currently, around 80 students are enrolled in this English-taught medical course.

Students who wants to apply for MBBS admissions in Yaroslav the Wise Novgorod State University must comply with the following eligibility criteria :

Criteria

Must have qualified the NEET-UG exam in the current or previous 2 years (as per NMC guidelines). NEET score is mandatory for admission and for eligibility to practice in India after MBBS abroad.

Academics
